But some good news...

I found my rear end...

It is an Iveco Duel wheel unit so less modifications required and it can already handle the weight...

And standard fitted with Brembo calipers. And 2x44mm Pistons...

So I will start looking for some new discs and pads, and then clean it up at a later stage...

Did a double take on the first pic. I thought you were also building a bat pod. :o

Hi all.

So just a bit of info on the diff that I got:
The Iveco Diff is from the 3rd Gen Iveco Daily Van and already a dual wheel setup and with the model number 7170314 it has a rear track of 166.1cm
Ford 9" Diff is varies here from 142.2cm to 152,4 cm in length, so it helps a bit.

The diff ratio ranges from 3.9 to 4.55 (But will confirm once I open it up as most of the info I can find says it should be 4.18 or 4.55) and weight loads that they can take 2240kg to 2600kg on the rear axles. So I think Im good... :D
And the wheel studs are M18x1.5 thread so nice and thick.

Rear discs are 290mm solid units and the calipers are Brembo units with twin 44mm pistons, so a good starting point and dont think I would need to upgrade much here as they are pretty well built, but will look into more options once I get everything together, ie rims ect...
But I see there are some upgraded 306mm discs that are vented, but have not spent much time on this yet...
But have found a few oem replacement options and suppliers around me so getting new discs, pads or bearings wont be an issue...

A nice big heavy-duty axle. How much do you think you will have to cut it down?

Hey lilboatsman.
At the moment I dont know if it would need to be cut as it is already a dual wheel setup.
But once I get it mounted and the rims done I will be able to see if any modification / adjustments would need to happen...

Nice! I've seen someone else use similar front hubs but I can't think of who.

BWD with his Rumbler build used similar ones...

I also found a old chevy pickup front axle like most guys use but there are no hubs, disc or anything.
So will look into parts for that one too and see what would work better...
